A Texas woman was jailed Monday after officers say she murdered her 3-year-old and 6-year-old children because they were autistic.

30-year-old Saiqa Akhter is charged with capital murder for the deaths of her two children that she strangled with antenna wire.

Irving police report that Akhter called 911 herself and told dispatchers that she tried to force her children to drink bathroom cleaner.

When they refused, she told dispatchers that she took nearby a wire and strangled them both.

When asked why she did it she reportedly said,

“Both are autistic. I don’t want my kids to be like that. I want normal kids. I don’t want my kids to be autistic. I kill both of them. They are died.”

Investigators say when they arrived on the scene the 3-year-old was blue and unresponsive and taken to a hospital where they later died.

The 6-year-old was pronounced dead on arrival.

When 911 operators asked her what she was feeling she replied, “Nothing.”

Child Protective Services had previously investigated Akhter in 2009 for an incident where she left one of her children unattended but the case was later dropped.

50 Cent has a lot of celebrate today. Aside from it being his birthday, 50 just dropped his 5:Murder By Numbers free album. Unfortunately it can’t all be fun and games, in fact the G-Unit rapper is under fire for making jokes about autism on his Twitter page earlier this week.

According to reports, 50 responded to a fan’s baseless threat to “release the album or get shot again,” referring to the delay of the free album.  Never one to hold his tongue, 50 retorted with “yeah just saw your picture fool you look autistic.” By then the damage was already done, but 50 opted to keep going, remarking that he “doesn’t want no special ed kids” on his timeline.

As a mother to an autistic son, Peete penned an open letter to the Queens native, expressing her disappointment:

Dear 50 Cent,

Since last night my twitter timeline is flooded with tweets and retweets about a response you posted to someone who insulted you. When I read it my heart sank. I thought maybe your account had been hacked. No such luck. Granted, his comment was completely out of line but your retort: “i just saw your picture fool you look autistic”- was so so disappointing. I mean, that’s your comeback?? And you didn’t stop there. You went on to joke about not wanting “special ed kids” on your timeline. Seriously, THIS is how you use your platform of 8 million plus followers??

She also made mention of her son (and included a photo) noting that he “loves rap music.”

Although 50 has yet to respond, there’s a good chance that he didn’t mean any harm, especially since he deleted the posts.

Drake Apologizes For Offensive “Jodeci Freestyle” Lyrics

J. Cole and Drake came under criticism for lyrics in their “Jodeci Freestyle” that disparaged sufferers of autism. J. Cole apologized on Sunday night (July 21) and last night (July 22) Drizzy took his blog to express contrition over the rhymes, and say the lyrics would be removed.

The “Started From The Bottom” rapper writes on October’s Very Own:

J.Cole wrote a beautiful and moving apology to individuals and families affected by autism who were understandably hurt by a verse in “Jodeci Freestyle”. I share responsibility and offer my sincerest apologies for the pain this has caused. Individuals with autism have brilliant and creative minds, and their gifts should not be disparaged or discounted. This was a learning lesson for both of us, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to try to right this wrong. J. Cole and I believe that it is the right, responsible, and respectful decision to remove the lyric from the song.

The Anti-Bullying Alliance and activist Anna Kennedy started a petition called for the two MCs to apologize for the offensive rhymes. Mission accomplished.

Drake’s new album, Nothing Was The Same, is due in stores September 17.

Veteran rapper Scarface has just seen a week-long scare come to a close as his son, Brandon Jordan turned up in Los Angeles’ Leimart Park area in reportedly good condition after he stormed out of his home without warning on Wednesday, January 29.

The 20-year-old, who is diagnosed with autism, is said to be an aspiring musician like his father and is studying music at West Lost Angeles College.

Reports ABC:

Rapper Scarface’s missing son has been located and is in good condition, authorities said on Thursday morning.

Brandon Jordan hadn’t been seen or heard from since Jan. 29 when he stormed out of his Leimert Park home.

“He just got agitated, didn’t want to talk about it no more, and just stormed out of the house with nothing,” said his mother Melissa Lollis.

His loved ones posted fliers at his favorite places throughout the area, as well as at West Los Angeles College, where he’s studying music.

The story breeds similarity to the case of New York teen Avonte Oquendo, who wandered off from his school in late October. His dismembered remains were eventually found scattered along a Queens shoreline a couple of weeks ago.

Police made no mention on where Jordan was found in the report. Pictures of the young Geto Boy can be found on the following pages.

Applebee’s Decides To Stop Paying Autistic Cook With Imaginary Checks [Video]

A Rhode Island Applebee’s chain has come clean about not paying an autistic prep cook for an entire year. The company has decided to give him 480 hours of backpay — after his family proved that the 166 hours they offered was wrong.

The cook, 21-year-old Caleb Dyl, was placed in the Applebee’s gig by the Resources of Human Development, a non-profit that receives state funding. Somehow, his paperwork got all mixed up and he went unpaid, and nobody said anything.

Dyl’s parents filled out tax and direct deposit paperwork for their son’s checks, but they never came. Finally, Applebee’s caught the error, and decided to stop taking advantage of the mentally disabled employee. They also said he never clocked in, which is something that his caseworker was supposed to help him handle.

The state is now investigating Dyl’s case.

Florida State Wide Receiver Sits Down For Lunch With Autistic 6th-Grader

In school, lunch tables are sometimes viewed as a place where someone’s social status is basically defined (kids. Smh). But Florida State football player Travis Rudolph had no reservations about pulling up a chair across from autistic sixth-grader, Bo Paske, who was sitting alone during lunch.

The 20-year-old FSU wide receiver was visiting Tallahassee’s Montford Middle School as part of a meet and greet with students the day he shared lunchtime with the often unaccompanied sixth-grade student.

Reports theGrio:

The 20-year-old was one of five players visiting the school that day to meet with students when he saw autistic sixth-grader Bo Paske sitting alone at lunch. He asked if he could sit with him.

According to Rudolph the two had a great conversation and Bo was a “cool” person he would enjoy hanging out with anytime.

One of the boy’s first questions to the player was if he was in the NFL. Rudolph answered, “not yet.”

Bo also shared with Rudolph his love for Florida State.

Leah Paske, the boy’s mother, was in tears at the football player’s kindness. Bo often spends lunchtime alone.

Just another example that a simple kind gesture can make all the difference in someone’s world. Rudolph knows this firsthand as he’s familiar with the effect that athletes have on today’s youth.

‘I was just a kid not too long ago,’ Rudolph said.

‘And I remember what the impact was when I saw guys that played in college football and the NFL coming back to us.

‘So I felt like maybe I could change someone’s life or just make someone a better person and want to be great just like me, even better.’

If only everyone else knew that we can in fact change the world even if it’s only one person at a time.

Word to Colin Kaepernick.

R. Kelly Insults Autistic Fan, Sings That Man Was “Smoking Percocet”

As if folks needed another reason to dislike R. Kelly, the beleaguered R&B crooner just told us to hold his beer so he can add to his own pile of Ls. Kelly had an exchange with an autistic fan that he insulted by suggesting the fan was high from “smoking percocet.”

TMZ reports:

Lenny Felix was out in Hollywood when he ran into Kelly outside a nightclub. You can tell from a video Kelly shot and posted, the 27-year-old fan was star struck. The singer and his crew responded by baiting Lenny into singing, “I Believe I Can Fly.”

Instead of showing warmth or appreciation, Kelly looked into the camera and mockingly sang, “I believe that you high … smoking on that Percocet.”

Kelly’s pals burst into laughter, but Lenny’s family was shocked and feel he was victimized. They tell us Lenny’s reaction to the clip was, “I don’t want him to think I’m dumb. Do you think he was making fun of me?”

His mom is heartbroken, and says the family has met with an attorney. You’ll recall … 50 Cent, Shaquille O’Neal and Waka Flaka have been sued after mocking fans with disabilities.

Kelly posted a video in response to the matter, saying he thought Felix was an inebriated fan and apologized in a video response to the outlet. He has since taken down the video of him making fun of Felix.
